Hello, this is your captain speaking. Welcome aboard…” Over the past month of my blogging journey, I have pondered hard about how my website logo should look like. Well, in this post, I will showcase my new website logo! Yes, you might say, it looks deceptively simple. However, I will show you how it embodies the spirit and purpose of this blog by explaining what it means, especially for my precious readers. Are you ready? Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter! Without further ado, let’s begin right now!
#1: The Journey
I believe that blogging is a journey. Just as a plane transports a person from one destination to another, readers of this blog will be able to explore different facts of the world, regardless of their nationality and beliefs. There is always something for everyone here. Likewise, as your pilot, I will be leading you on this journey!
#2: In The Sky
Just as an aircraft soars thousands of feet above the sky, this blog transcends boundaries and offers readers a bird’s eye view of the world below. This blog will touch on many topics of the world, and every article will be a whole new experience. Unlike other blogs, this blog is not confined to any speciality. One article might be about aviation, while another might be “Roses are red, violets are blue.” jokes! Thus, keep your eyes peeled, and buckle your seatbelts. You never know where this plane will go next!
Higher, Farther, Onward and Upward
Reaching New Heights
Just as a plane climbs higher, so shall this blog do the same. We aim to improve and increase our knowledge with each passing day. As mentioned above, blogging is a journey, not only for the pilot but also for our fellow passengers. We seek to learn more about the world, whether it is through constant reading or research, as we go about our blogging business. Likewise, we hope that your knowledge of the world would increase with each article!
Is there another reason for the plane in the logo? Well, aviation is my passion! Yes, seriously, I can go look at planes for hours on FlightRadar24. More on that in a later post.
I hope that this post has fully explained the reasons as to why I chose this logo. If you did enjoy this post, do consider giving it a like! Do follow me if you haven’t done so. Stay tuned for my next article!
To blog or not to blog, that is the question. Blogging is almost as old as the internet itself, but have you ever wondered why we bloggers do what we do? Some might envision and imagine blogging to be a mere habit, but it is more than that. In fact, some of us might say it is a way of life! Not only does blogging allow you to voice your ideas, it also allows you to learn more about the world! In this article, I will discuss the benefits blogging as for you and why you should try it out for yourself! Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter! Without further ado, let’s hop right in!
#1: Blogging Allows You to Voice Your Opinions
Do you ever feel the need to share with others what you know? If you do, then blogging is for you! Blogs are where people from different countries, different races and different walks of life come together to discuss a chosen topic together! Here, you will be able to explore different perspectives of your chosen topic. This makes blogging a great learning experience for you and your readers alike.
#2: Blogging Allows You To Learn More About The World
As mentioned in point 1, blogging is a great way to learn about others’ perspectives and different point of views regarding a certain matter. In fact, in the draft process of blogging, many of us are required to read up and research on our selective topic. And of course, we are required to process this information and communicate it effectively in words, pictures or sometimes videos. In fact, I think that blogging promotes the joy of learning, while at the same time cultivating the habits of reading and writing, which we don’t do quite often anymore once we leave school. This helps to enhance thinking, reading and writing skills, while allowing you to express your creativity in any way you like! If you would like to learn more about the benefits of reading, do visit my article at https://bestofwrite.com/2020/12/01/why-you-should-read/.
#3: You Can Make Money Doing It!
Firstly, I would like to emphasise that this point is not as important as the previous 2. This is because blogging can be frustrating at times, and if money is your only motivation, I can assure you that you would have failed before you even started. This is simply because, as with all things in life, true success comes when you do what you love. Therefore, if you find that you do not enjoy blogging, don’t blog, as doing what you don’t like will not generate you any positive results. So, let us begin this point with this understanding in mind.
Many of us reduce blogging to a mere hobby which is unable of generating any long term profits. However, this isn’t true! Blogging is like painting on an empty canvas; the possibilities are endless! It is up to you to be creative, the way you like it. For example, you could offer your audience the option to subscribe to your paid newsletter, which provides weekly reads of your written stories and narratives. Not sure what to do? Fret not! All you have to do is blog first and worry about the money later. Yes, I’m not kidding. As you consistently blog and garner an audience, you will start to earn money from ad-revenue and perhaps even paid collaborations with other fellow bloggers! Of course, you could also earn money from the good, old fashioned donations.
As a fellow blogger myself, I have enjoyed my blogging journey very much. Along the way, I was able to pick up bits and pieces of knowledge, connect with my audience and perhaps also improve my writing skills. This post is for anyone who feels the passion for sharing, learning and connecting with others. If you did enjoy this article, do consider giving it a like! Wikipedia defines an energy crisis to be “any significant bottleneck in the supply of energy resources to an economy.” There are many causes for energy crises, such as overconsumption, aging infrastructure and the lack of energy sources. Energy crises threaten to overturn economies and disrupt livelihoods, and it is exactly because of this that scientists are frantically searching for sustainable energy sources, before it’s too late. Today, I will discuss what an energy crisis entails and how it can be avoided. Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter! Without further ado, let’s hop right in!
Fossil fuels have become a staple in our daily lives. It is used to power airplanes, cars, trucks and manufacture plastic bags. You could say that the world hasn’t been the same since we discovered the use of fossil fuels. We have become so dependent on it, that if we ran out of fossil fuels, we would be sent right back into the Stone Age. Now as our energy consumption increases due to increasing population and advancing technology, we may soon overtake the rate of energy production and use up our precious fossil fuels. We can see this in the constant rise of oil prices over the years. Thus, the search is on for sources of sustainable energy which can help to supplement, if not replace fossil fuels.
The Effects of Energy Crisis
Imagine your life without electricity, living in a city without lights. There would be no electricity to charge your phones, power your television and elevators. You would be forced to take the stairs up and down everyday in your office. Crime rate would increase as police forces lose access to many of their capabilities. Lives cannot be saved in time as paramedics are no longer able to drive ambulances. You get the idea. Life would stop to a standstill and electricity would be more precious than even gold. However horrifying this might seem, this is what energy crises can do.
Why We Need Sustainable Energy
Unlike fossil fuels, sustainable energy sources can last for an extremely long time, if not forever, in some cases. Fossil fuels, being unsustainable, are expected to last up till another 115 years (Coal is expected to last 115 years, while natural gas and oil are expected to run out in 50 years). After that, it would be millions of years before fossil fuels are naturally regenerated. As you can see, we will run out of fossil fuels very soon. We cannot overly rely on it. That’s when sustainable energy comes in. Sustainable energy can come in many forms, like solar energy, geothermal energy and hydropower. However, work is still underway to implement them and sustainable energy sources still do not produce as much energy as that of fossil fuels.
Here’s How You Can Play A Part
This first thing you can do is to reduce your electric consumption. This can be done simply by turning off the lights when you don’t need them, or turning off the power switch when your phone is fully charged. You could also start to take public transport, which leaves you a lower carbon footprint. More details can be found here: https://bestofwrite.com/2020/12/15/heres-how-you-can-reduce-your-carbon-footprint/
This wraps up my first post for 2021! I hope that this article has given you a greater understanding of the effects and causes of energy crises, and that you have learned something from it. Some of us might end up gambling from time to time. We are enticed by the opportunity to earn some cold, hard cash. But is it worth your time and your money? Gambling has been shown to be a harmful and destructive habit which destroys relationships and induces poverty. In this article, we shall discuss this topic in further detail. Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter! Without further ado, let’s jump right in.
#1: You Will End Up Losing Money
Many become excited by the prospect by earning large amounts of money in the casino or even illegal gambling dens. However, overall, you will only end up losing your hard-earned money. Let’s take a look at an example. About 85% of adults in the U.S. have gambled at least once in their life and the gambling industry takes in about $500 billion a year. Yes, that’s a lot of money. In fact, statistics have shown that over 95% of gamblers end up losing money overall. But how? This is because the games in casinos are handled in such a way that the casinos, otherwise known as the “house”, will almost always have the advantage. Furthermore, casinos leverage on the compulsion of gamblers to keep them coming back.
#2: Relationships Are Destroyed
People who suffer from gambling addiction may find themselves siphoning large amounts of money from their precious savings and those of their loved ones, just to sustain their habits. Some might even engage in illegal activities so as to repay the debts caused by gambling. Furthermore, these addicts almost always spend large amounts of time gambling and report difficulty in quitting. Consequently, the time these people spend with their loved ones and family decreases, and naturally relationships are broken. A child might be ashamed of his father’s compulsive gambling behaviour, while a spouse might become increasingly suspicious and untrusting towards his/her partner. This is often worsened by financial difficulties caused by the aforementioned addiction.
#3: Mental Health
By itself, gambling can be a highly stressful activity, with numerous highs and lows. As a gambler becomes increasingly consumed in the activity, he/she might experience mood swings, anxiety and decreased self control. He/she might find himself/herself worrying constantly about whether he/she will gain or lose money in the next run. Losing money can be extremely uncomfortable and demoralising for such individuals, thereby triggering explosive outbursts of anger. This is just the tip of the iceberg. After a long period of time and without changes to such behaviour, the individual might find himself/herself in financial difficulties. This is worsened by the broken relationships caused by gambling. As such, the individual’s stress might culminate to a point where he/she thinks of suicide. To add credibility to this point, research commissioned by a leading UK gambling charity, GambleAware, found that gamblers were six times more likely to have thoughts of suicide or attempt suicide.
Gambling is not a reliable way to earn money and most of you who have done so before might find yourselves losing large amounts of money. I hope that this article was helpful to you, and if it was, do give it a like! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my next article.
It has been a pretty rough year so far and 2020 is coming to pass. As I am writing this, 2021 starts in 3 more days. This is a controversial question pondered by many. Indeed, money can buy you lots of stuff and grant you a better life. But is it the key to happiness? It is the desire of all men to be happy and many aim to be rich. However, money can also blind you, destroy you and take everything you love away. So, is there a definite answer? In this article, we shall discuss this topic in detail and analyse whether money is the definite answer to happiness. Beforeyou continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter! Your support is greatly appreciated. Without further ado, let’s begin right away.
Yes, Money Can Give You Happiness To A Certain Degree
As mentioned earlier, money is able to grant you a better life. It can be used to buy food, luxuries and many other items that you desire. Money takes care of our basic needs and ensures our survival. It gives you freedom to control your life, do what you love to do and help others as well. For example, saving up money ensures that your current/future children will not have to worry about their education. I think we can all agree on this point.
However, There’s A Catch
Money is indeed useful and important in our lives. However, obsession with money can end up destroying you. Many people yearn to be rich and often, quickly. As a result, they are willing to do almost anything just to get more money in their pockets. For example, some might end up becoming addicted to gambling while others might engage in illegal activities. On the other hand, many become obsessed with the power of money and what it can do. In fact, many end up spending a large portion of their money on unneeded and frivolous luxuries. Consequently, they are most likely to end up in debt and poverty. But this doesn’t stop here. Not only does the greed of money affect your financial decisions, but it also changes your character and how you interact with others. It creates selfish men and/or women who will stop at nothing to gain more power and money, even if it is at the expense of their loved ones. Still unconvinced? Mr. Krabs from the famous Spongebob Squarepants cartoon show is a great example of how money can influence men and is the personification of greed itself.
This has been a short post so far, but the main point I would like to bring across is that, as with all things in life, everything must be done in moderation. Sure, money is important, but we shouldn’t be overly obsessed with it. We must learn to be content with what we have and to place God, our families, our loved ones and human life above the material things of the world. The greed and obsession of money has destroyed many men in history, so don’t let yourself become the next person on the list. Nations are brought to war by their leaders for numerous reasons. These include social and economic inequalities, politics or just sheer greed. But is it all worth it? As humans on this Earth, we have seen our fair share of tragedies and disasters, but nothing compares to the tragedy of war. The sad reality is that wars are constantly fought. After every war, many nations only seek to prepare for the next. Peace is just reduced to the mere interlude between one war and the next. You would think that, being the most intelligent animal species on Earth, human beings would be able to cooperate in peace, but that is almost never the case. This article will show you exactly why wars should never be fought and why peace is so important. Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter! #1: Innocent People Are Made to Suffer
Many men and women, many of which unwilling participants, risk and lose their lives on the battlefield. On the other hand, many civilians are sent to concentration camps to be brutally tortured and executed, sometimes just for the fun of it. In fact, war crimes come naturally with any war, as parties on both sides hate each other. The image above shows the infamous Auschwitz death camp which was a place of suffering for many captured Jews during World War 2. On last estimate, more than 1.1 million people were killed there.
#2: Property is Destroyed
In the process of any war, property is destroyed. Towns and houses are obliterated by artillery fire, and in more ancient times, the projectiles fired by trebuchets. Civilians may lose many if not all of their possessions during a war and are forced to evict their former hometowns. Livelihoods are destroyed and many lose their wealth, as many civilians search frantically for a new dwelling place, sometimes to no avail.
#3: Public Panic and Fear
Death comes with any war. And with death, comes public fear and panic. During a war, civilians may lose their possessions and loved ones. Furthermore, they live in fear that they might be attacked anytime at an unknown time and location. As a result, many people develop eating and stress disorders, as they struggle with trauma. In fact, many World War 2 survivors still carry them to this day.
Human lives are too precious to be lost to petty feuds and arguments. If only nations will learn to bury the hatchet and work together, the world would be a much better place. Let us remember that wars harm the parties on both sides and that innocent people are the ones who bear the brunt of the war. If you this article was helpful to you in any way, do consider giving it a like! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my next post!
How many of you dream to be rich? What does being rich mean to you? Do you imagine yourself with Gucci bags, with jewellery and with a grand-looking house? If you do, then you are mistaken. In fact, rich people are more frugal than you think! Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter. Without further ado, let’s hop right in!
Expectation #1: They Spend Money Like It’s Nothing
Many of us imagine the rich to spend their money like it’s nothing. We imagine them to spend on all the jewellery, properties and physical items they can get their hands on.
Reality #1: Most of the Rich Are Extremely Frugal!
Here’s the truth. The rich use their money carefully and do not spend it on unnecessary items. Now you might ask, “That’s crazy! They have loads of money, but they don’t do anything with it?” Don’t worry, you’re not alone. Society and its forms of entertainment have brainwashed us into thinking the wealthy live extravagantly. In fact, when we are told to imagine a rich man/woman, we imagine him/her in expensive clothing, with luxurious cars and a dozen villas. However, this is not the practice of the wealthy. The wealthy know that the money spent on these luxuries could be used to start other businesses, invest and save. This multiplies their wealth even more! Of course, the wealthy pamper themselves once in while, however, they understand that those who spend money recklessly are those who will lose their fortunes.
Expectation #2: They Are Wealthy Because of Luck
The majority of us are led to believe that the wealthy either inherited their wealth or got lucky along the way. Many of us believe that the rich got their wealth from the lottery, gambling or being lucky in the stock market, while others believe that the only way to be rich is to inherit it from one’s parents or relatives.
Reality #2: They Are Wealthy Because They Work Hard
Yes, it is true that one can be wealthy because of his/her inheritance or being lucky in the stock market. However, without working hard and using their money carefully, these people will end up losing their wealth and sliding back into poverty. The rich, however, are the ones that are hardworking and persevere. In fact, many who were poor have become rich after years of hard work! One good example is blogging. Many people dismiss blogging as a mere hobby which is unable to generate real and reliable profits. However, there are those who have made their fortune through blogging! But how did they achieve this? These six or seven figure bloggers didn’t just get lucky. In fact, these are the bloggers who endured years of failure and constant learning before achieving their goals! To these people, failure is nothing but an interlude between two successes. You see, you can earn your fortune from just about anything – as long as it does not go against the law and is moral – if you are willing to sacrifice and persist.
Expectation #3: Rich People Are Lazy
It is common to imagine the rich as lazy people who spend every single day enjoying their luxuries and doing nothing else. Most of us believe the rich do not work and live worry-free lives. But is this wholly true?
Reality #3: The Rich Constantly Learn and Look For New Opportunities
Those who are truly wealthy know that lazing around will only result in losing one’s fortune. In fact, the rich understand that change is the only constant and that they have to embrace it. Those who grow arrogant and lazy are those who will fall behind in the race. Knowing this, they learn constantly to keep themselves up to date and look for new opportunities to expand their fortune. Evidently, many of the rich keep a reading habit! (If you would like to learn more about the benefits of reading, do visit https://bestofwrite.com/2020/12/01/why-you-should-read/) As a result, the wealthy are able to protect their fortune even when the unexpected might strike, for they are able to adapt regardless of the circumstances. These are the people who see the bigger picture.
Attaining, protecting and growing your wealth is a game of strategy. A strategist understands that he/she cannot afford to be lazy or reckless, for he/she would risk losing all that he/she has built. Secondly, being wealthy is a possibility for us all, regardless of our current financial situation. We are all blessed with a mind and it is up to us to use it appropriately and wisely. Thirdly, Rome was not built in a day, was it? Nothing comes for free and everything takes time, so don’t worry if you don’t see results yet.

The invention of the instant noodle is one that has changed the world. Since its inception, it has been hailed by many for its convenience and simplicity of use. In fact, many of us consume them regularly whenever we feel lazy to order a take out or cook. But is it healthy? Is it something you should eat regularly? Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter! Let’s jump right in!
MSG, also known as Monosodium Glutamate, is a common food additive in processed foods such as instant noodles. In fact, it has become so ubiquitous that it is used almost everywhere, from food seasoning to your miso soup. Studies regarding MSG have been controversial at best. However, a number of reports suggest that this infamous additive is able to trigger headaches, high blood pressure and other symptoms, while also promoting obesity.
#2: It’s Low In Calories, Fibres and Proteins
You might notice that you wouldn’t feel full after a meal of instant noodles. This is mostly because of the fact that it is low in calories, fibres and proteins. Being low in calories, a meal of instant noodles would not be able to sustain you for as long as a normal meal would, while a lack in fibre content might increase the risk of digestive problems such as constipation.
#3: It Has High Sodium Content
Instant noodles have high sodium content. In fact, a single serving of instant noodles contains almost 900 mg of sodium! Sodium has been linked to numerous health problems. In fact, it increases the risk of atherosclerosis, heart failure and kidney disease.

Forest is an incredible app that brings procrastination to an end. In fact, its ingenious design has brought it to the number #1 spot in the App Store. This article will show you how this app works and how it is useful in our lives. Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter. Without further ado, let’s hop right in!
How The App Works
The mechanics of Forest are pretty simple. First, select a timer between 10 to 120 minutes. As the timer runs, your tree would grow. When the timer ends, your tree(s) will be added to your garden. However, there’s a catch. If you unlock your phone before the timer ends, your tree dies. This dead tree will also be added to your garden and you must spend about 60 coins to delete that record. You are able to view your garden and statistics in the app as well. Also, you are able to plant a real tree in life for 2500 coins! How cool is that?
What I Like About The App
It has a minimalistic design
It’s simple to use
The plants in the app look absolutely beautiful!
It provides additional motivation to stay focused
You can save the world by planting a real tree for 2500 coins!
How It Benefits Our Lives
In the present world, staying focused has never been harder. With technology everywhere, it is easy to be distracted by our devices and surroundings. In fact, our mobile phones are major sources of distraction. One notification is enough to draw our attentions away. Forest is a solution to this problem. By using positive and negative reinforcement, focusing becomes easier and we are able to focus on our tasks at hand. Seeing the trees you have planted in your garden also provides a sense of satisfaction and joy.
We all need a break from technology and Forest does just that. In fact, this app is so powerful that I recommend it to all students and working adults.
