Life Principles I Live By

Your beliefs, principles and faith determines how you live. These vary from person to person, depending on one’s background, life experiences and of course, upbringing. What you think, how you think, how you speak, all reflect your inner self. All these determines where you’ll go and how far you’ll go in this world. Today, I will share about the life principles I live by and why I do so. Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter. Without further ado, let’s begin.

#1: Treat Others The Way You Want To Be Treated

I think this life principle constantly eludes us, especially in the present world. All men desire happiness, love and care. However, do we consider the feelings and needs of others? Often we become selfish individuals, as we seek the ideals of the world. We start to think that the world only revolves around us. This way of thinking is prevalent in many people today, especially with social media everywhere and the inception of the internet. The reason as to why I think that we should all treat others the way we want to be treated is that no man is an island. The world does not revolve solely around us. All of us are part of the same race and have the same needs. Only if we work together, respect each other and care for each other can we achieve and move forward as one humanity. Don’t be afraid to give a hand to those who are in need and lift others up with you.

#2: Do What You Love And You Will Succeed

In the past, many thought that success can be obtained through sheer hard work and willpower. Well, at least that was the thinking of the 20st century, especially for many Asians. The idea was that if you achieved more, you would be able to live a happier and luxurious life. While it is true that you might be more likely to succeed if you had more qualifications and achievements (again to some extent), you will not feel happy at all. Later, you will start to question the meaning of your success and you will start to detest every single day at work. Without a purpose or passion, success is meaningless and impossible to attain. What I believe is that as long as you do what you love and work towards it every single day, you will gain true success. Not only will you be granted great happiness, but you will also naturally be more determined and persistent. Look at Jeff Bozos and Bill Gates. Both of them have built a net worth of many billions of dollars and they could choose to retire any time. After all, the money which they possess is enough for them to live luxuriously till the end of their lives! However, both of them still choose to work everyday, because to them, their work is play. To them, they aren’t working at all, but doing what they love. I rest my case. Only when you follow your passion can you be happy and successful.

#3: Care For Others, Especially The Poor

This builds upon principle #1. As humans, we have to be able to care for other members of our race. We should spread love and hope around the planet, and be united. As stated earlier above, we are not alone. We are not islands. We are all interconnected in many ways, even if we don’t perceive it. Yes, caring for others can be difficult and many of us may not have the courage to do so. However, all of us can play a part in helping each other. Some simple acts of love we can do is to donate to the poor, support your neighbours and build friendships. Many, including the poor, suffer not because of their circumstances or what they have went through. Instead, it is because of the indifference of others towards them. In other words, silence in the face of poverty, evil and suffering is the greatest evil among all evils. This is why I believe learning to care for others and the unfortunate is what defines us as humans and as a species. A single act of love is all it takes.

Here’s Why You Should Blog

To blog or not to blog, that is the question. Blogging is almost as old as the internet itself, but have you ever wondered why we bloggers do what we do? Some might envision and imagine blogging to be a mere habit, but it is more than that. In fact, some of us might say it is a way of life! Not only does blogging allow you to voice your ideas, it also allows you to learn more about the world! In this article, I will discuss the benefits blogging as for you and why you should try it out for yourself! Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter! Without further ado, let’s hop right in!

Do you ever feel the need to share with others what you know? If you do, then blogging is for you! Blogs are where people from different countries, different races and different walks of life come together to discuss a chosen topic together! Here, you will be able to explore different perspectives of your chosen topic. This makes blogging a great learning experience for you and your readers alike.

#2: Blogging Allows You To Learn More About The World

As mentioned in point 1, blogging is a great way to learn about others’ perspectives and different point of views regarding a certain matter. In fact, in the draft process of blogging, many of us are required to read up and research on our selective topic. And of course, we are required to process this information and communicate it effectively in words, pictures or sometimes videos. In fact, I think that blogging promotes the joy of learning, while at the same time cultivating the habits of reading and writing, which we don’t do quite often anymore once we leave school. This helps to enhance thinking, reading and writing skills, while allowing you to express your creativity in any way you like! #3: You Can Make Money Doing It!

Firstly, I would like to emphasise that this point is not as important as the previous 2. This is because blogging can be frustrating at times, and if money is your only motivation, I can assure you that you would have failed before you even started. This is simply because, as with all things in life, true success comes when you do what you love. Therefore, if you find that you do not enjoy blogging, don’t blog, as doing what you don’t like will not generate you any positive results. So, let us begin this point with this understanding in mind.

Many of us reduce blogging to a mere hobby which is unable of generating any long term profits. However, this isn’t true! Blogging is like painting on an empty canvas; the possibilities are endless! It is up to you to be creative, the way you like it. For example, you could offer your audience the option to subscribe to your paid newsletter, which provides weekly reads of your written stories and narratives. Not sure what to do? Fret not! All you have to do is blog first and worry about the money later. Yes, I’m not kidding. As you consistently blog and garner an audience, you will start to earn money from ad-revenue and perhaps even paid collaborations with other fellow bloggers! Of course, you could also earn money from the good, old fashioned donations.

Conclusion

As a fellow blogger myself, I have enjoyed my blogging journey very much. Along the way, I was able to pick up bits and pieces of knowledge, connect with my audience and perhaps also improve my writing skills. This post is for anyone who feels the passion for sharing, learning and connecting with others. If you did enjoy this article, do consider giving it a like! Why You Should Own a Pet

During this time of the year, with COVID-19 ravaging the world and forcing us to stay at home, having a pet can have untold benefits for your mental and physical wellbeing. For those introverts out there, having a pet will provide you with a great friend. Also, for those stuck and bored at home, owning and taking care of a pet will be a great experience. In this article, we will discuss why you should own a pet and whether or not they are worth your time. Before you continue reading, do follow me and subscribe to my newsletter. Let’s jump right in!

#1: You’ll Never Feel Lonely Anymore

To own a pet is to have another friend. If you are feeling lonely and are in need of some company, a pet is the way to go. They help to provide companionship and improves your mood. In fact, owning a pet has been shown to reduce blood pressure and improve mood.

#2: They Bring People Together

Believe it or not, pets are great catalysts for conversations. You will be able to form meaningful friendships with other pet lovers, too. In fact, research has shown that those who walked their dogs, were more likely to befriend someone they met through a pet-related connection.

#3: They Help You Keep An Active Lifestyle

Having a pet helps to increase your levels of physical activity. Those who own dogs, for example, might find themselves walking with their dogs more often. If walking with your dog sounds boring, you could take it for a swim or even rollerblade together with it. In the long run, this will bring you numerous health benefits, including improved blood pressure, reduced risk of coronary artery disease and obesity.

#4: It Teaches Your Child How To Handle Responsibility

Taking care of a pet isn’t easy at all. Depending upon the type of pet you own, you will have to attend to its numerous needs, including regular baths, feeding and grooming. Letting your child take care of his/her pet will teach him/her the importance of responsibility, a highly essential life skill.

#5: They Provide Unconditional Love

Compared to humans, pets will not love you any differently every day. They won’t love you less just because you didn’t give it its favourite food or are unable to accompany it 24/7. They will always be unwaveringly loyal to you, even if you cannot reciprocate it.

#6: They Provide A Sense of Safety

This builds upon point #1. Silence and loneliness can be quite unbearable for most people who live alone. A pet helps to fill that void, so you’ll always sleep at night knowing your little friend has your back. This is especially true for people who own guard dogs which provide you with protection even when you’re out for a run or walk.

#7: They Help to Reduce Stress

There are days where we feel overwhelmed and pressured. Owning a pet will help to lighten your mood as you have fun interacting with it. They help to provide comfort and reduce anxiety. This helps to reduce the risks of depression and PTSD. If you would like to learn more about how stress can harm you, do read my article at https://bestofwrite.com/2020/12/11/is-stress-good-for-you/.

Conclusion

Sometimes, because of our hectic and busy lifestyles, our loved ones are unable to spend time together with us. During these times, we might feel abandoned and uncared for. A pet will help to ease these feelings and provide you with joy and fulfillment. I hope this article was helpful to you and until then, stay tuned for my next post!
